Special Issue: Routines
First things first
My name is Meghan Kowalski and I'm an outreach librarian working in Washington, DC. Some days I struggle with making content because my brain is tired. I share noteworthy items and idea prompts to, hopefully, help *spark* an idea for your content.
In this special subscriber issue, we’re exploring how you can use Routines in your content. We’re covering:
An overview of routines
40 ideas to try
Recommended links and resources to explore
Routines are the small, often unglamorous things we do on repeat. They are all the morning habits, weekly rituals, and quiet systems that shape our days. They’re easy to overlook, but routines are where life happens. Talking about routines opens the door to stories about time, energy, care, and how people move through their days.
As a theme, routines work well because they’re deeply relatable and endlessly adaptable. Everyone has them, everyone tweaks them, and everyone is curious about how others make their days work. Content centered on routines invites reflection, comparison, and conversation, making it easy for audiences to engage, share their own practices, and come back for ideas they can try themselves.
Here are some ways you can try using routines in your content:
Share a routine - but do it backwards
Follow your pet for a day and see what routines they have
Pick one part of your morning routine to change - explain why
