My name is Meghan Kowalski and I'm an outreach librarian working in Washington, DC. Some days I struggle with making content because my brain is tired. I share noteworthy items and idea prompts to, hopefully, help *spark* an idea for your content.

In this special subscriber issue, we’re exploring how you can use Cleaning in your content. We’re covering:

  • An overview of cleaning

  • 47 ideas to try

  • Recommended links and resources to explore

Spring has a way of making us want to clear things out. We open the windows, drag things out of closets, and suddenly feel the urge to get rid of everything that’s been accumulating since October. It’s one of the most universal human impulses - and that’s exactly what makes it such a rich time for cleaning related ideas.

Your audience is already in this headspace. They’re reorganizing their kitchens, donating bags of clothes they haven’t worn since 2019, and Googling whether they actually need to keep seven years of tax returns. They’re thinking about their spaces, their routines, their relationships, and what they want their lives to look and feel like as the year picks up speed.

Spring cleaning as a theme works beautifully across almost any format or audience. Whatever your niche, the energy of the season is on your side.

Here are some ways you can try using cleaning in your content:

  • Create a "Spring Cleaning by Room" series for social media - one room per day or week

  • Record a podcast episode on the emotional side of letting go of possessions

  • Design a social media carousel on the "one in, one out" rule for keeping clutter at bay
